Instructions for making a new file using Windows.

1) Click on your my computer icon (the little picture) on your desktop or in your start menu. It should look something like this:

Most people have to double-click, that is they have to click twice but your computer may be set up so that you only have to click once. Don't worry if your icons or your toolbars don't look exactly like mine but they will be similar.

2) Navigate to where you want to put your new folder using your drop down bar.


Navigat to the drive you want your folder on.


2b. As an example, this tells me I'm in my C drive in the sub-folder Documents and Settings.

This tells me I'm on my c drive in the folder documents and settings.




3) Go to the File menu at the top of your page with your mouse and select New > Folder.

Select File-New-Folder.



4) The New Folder will appear at the end of the list.

Your new folder appears at the end of the list.




5) Right-click (click your right mouse button or if you are left handed and have set up your mouse the other way around, left-click) on "New Folder" and give your file a new name.


Re name your folder.
